Fractions Math Journal


Description

This math journal will deal with all of our fraction information. We will talk about naming fractions of regions and groups, identifying equivalent fractions, work with improper fractions and mixed numbers, and compare and order fractions.

denominator - the bottom number in a fraction, the part of the fraction that identifies the whole

numerator - the top number in a fraction, the part of the fraction that identifies the part

fraction - a part of a whole, part of a set, or part of a region...in a part of a region or part of a whole, the parts must be equal

mixed number - a number containing a whole number part and a fraction part

improper fraction - a fraction where the numerator is equal to or greater than the denominator

equivalent fraction - fractions that name the same number or same part of a set
